A day for the kids to take Dad out in the woods. Open to everyone, individuals and groups as well as families. Come have fun seeking flags on the trails and forest. Sunday, June 15, 2025, starting your walk or run any time between 11 AM and 1PM, at Lime Hollow Nature Center Education Center, 3277 Gracie Rd, Cortland (not the main visitor center on McLean Rd).
Orienteering is a sport involving use of map & compass to navigate the forest on foot. Orienteering is good for walkers as well as those who like to run in the woods.
You can pre-register at Orienteering USA’s Event Reg site.
This event offers the option to start at a time of your choice between 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM, and finish at your own pace in an hour or two. Free instruction for beginners as needed throughout the event.
Novice-Short, Intermediate-Medium and Advanced-Long courses will be offered using electronic scoring.
Fee for color maps is $8 for non members, $5 for CNYO members. Maps can be shared. Refreshments included.
Large groups (such as Scout troops) please pre-register.
Event will be held rain or shine. Please dress for the weather.
